Guiding Brand Evolution During a Pivotal Acquisition and Transition
In 2021, following WesTech Engineering’s acquisition by JS&S Water Holdings—a division of the global conglomerate John Swire & Sons Limited—BWP Communications was engaged to provide strategic branding and creative expertise during a critical period of transition. With over 50 years of experience in engineering process equipment for the industrial, mineral, municipal water, and municipal wastewater industries, WesTech recognized the importance of refreshing its brand identity to align with the broader vision of the Swire Water network. Having previously developed a full branding and marketing platform for Purestream Services, another Swire Water Holdings company based in Salt Lake City, BWP was a natural partner for WesTech’s brand evolution.

Delivering a Future-Focused Visual Identity Rooted in Technical Excellence
BWP’s objective was to craft a modern, unified brand presence that honored WesTech’s legacy while embracing its future under Swire ownership. Our team designed and delivered a completely new visual approach to the WesTech brand, developing a comprehensive suite of creative assets that included brochure pages, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, and a one-pager. We explored custom iconography and illustration styles to reflect the technical precision and innovation of WesTech’s work, while simultaneously crafting a visual identity that felt fresh, forward-looking, and in harmony with Swire Water’s broader branding strategy. Font exploration and design recommendations were also provided, along with concepts for how the new corporate mark could be treated across various applications.
Extending Brand Impact Across Communications with Strategic Design Thinking
Beyond aesthetics, BWP supported WesTech with design concepts for both internal and external communications, ensuring the brand refresh extended seamlessly across all platforms and touchpoints. We approached each element of the rebrand with strategic intent—aiming not only to elevate visual consistency but also to reinforce WesTech’s core mission of delivering solutions that benefit both their clients and the greater good. WesTech ultimately ended up completing the project with an internal team but we enjoyed working through the process with them and their new brand continues to serve them well.
