Naming the Legacy: Crafting a Distinctive Identity Rooted in History

Eight Settlers Distillery engaged BWP with a potential name and a vision. We worked closely with ESD to design an extensive brand identity complete with a color palette, font palette, visual toolkit, image style, and a beautiful style guide to help steer the brand into the future. We worked closely with ESD leadership to develop naming strategies not only for the distillery itself but also for all of their flagship products. We conducted extensive research into various aspects of spirits, Utah history and lore, Cottonwood Heights history and lore, as well as research into adjacent subject matter that would help inform the brand and product nomenclature strategy.

Once we completed the labeling design system, we designed their website, marketing materials, swag, menus, signage, and other brand and marketing assets. We developed a comprehensive marketing plan and strategy as well as their social media presence and messaging architecture. Our design approach was intentional and thoughtful, ensuring each brand touchpoint reflected the authenticity of the Eight Settlers’ spirit while evoking the rugged elegance of its Utah roots. The result was a cohesive brand package that carried the distillery’s story forward, giving it a distinctive, timeless feel.
