FAQ

Every client and project is unique, but some questions come up often. Here you’ll find answers that clarify our approach, process, and philosophy. Transparency and collaboration guide everything we do—because great partnerships start with understanding.

What makes BWP different from other agencies?

We’ve been building brands and campaigns for nearly three decades, but longevity alone isn’t what sets us apart. What differentiates BWP is our commitment to research-driven insights as the foundation for every creative decision. We don’t jump straight into tactics or design; we begin by listening — to your stakeholders, your audiences, and your data. That understanding informs strategy, which then guides the creative. The result is work that is not only visually compelling but also meaningful, practical, and sustainable. Clients trust us because we bring clarity to complex challenges and produce creative that’s rooted in purpose, not guesswork.

What types of clients does BWP work with?

Our work spans public, private, and nonprofit sectors — and that diversity is intentional. We partner with state agencies, municipalities, and nonprofits to communicate initiatives that require clarity, trust, and broad public engagement. At the same time, we help private-sector brands — from emerging startups to established national companies — sharpen their identities and compete in crowded markets. This balance keeps us versatile: public work teaches us discipline and accountability, while private work keeps us sharp, creative, and competitive.

What is BWP’s process?

Our process is structured but flexible, built on decades of experience and refined to balance strategy with creativity. We begin with Research and Discovery, gathering audience insights, stakeholder perspectives, and competitor benchmarks. We then move into Strategic Foundation, defining brand positioning, messaging, and voice. From there, we develop Creative Systems — whether visual identities, campaigns, or digital experiences — that bring strategy to life. Finally, we focus on Activation and Adoption, ensuring the work doesn’t just launch but is embraced and implemented consistently across channels. This approach allows us to deliver work that is both inspired and grounded.

Who will I work with?

When you work with BWP, you work with our senior team. We’re intentionally structured to be lean and responsive, so the strategists, designers, and writers you meet at the start are the ones you’ll work with throughout. This continuity builds trust and efficiency, allowing us to move quickly without sacrificing depth. Many of our client relationships last years because we invest in partnership, not just projects.

Do you only work with Utah-based clients?

No. While we’re proud to be headquartered in Salt Lake City and have deep roots in Utah, we work with clients across the country. Our portfolio includes national consumer brands, international organizations, and local nonprofits. What connects them all is a need for clarity, creativity, and impact — not geography.

How long does a typical engagement take?

Timelines vary depending on scope. A full brand development project may take 10–12 weeks. A campaign launch might be 6–8 weeks. A website build can range from 3–6 months. Large, multi-channel initiatives may run longer with phased rollouts. Regardless of size, our process is designed to be efficient, collaborative, and transparent — you’ll always know where things stand.

Do you handle both strategy and execution?

Yes. Strategy and execution are inseparable. We build strategies that clarify your purpose and positioning, then carry them through into creative campaigns, design systems, digital platforms, PR, and more. This ensures that every deliverable is aligned and that the strategy isn’t just theoretical but actionable in the real world.

How do we get started?

It starts with a conversation. We want to understand your goals, challenges, and vision. From there, we develop a tailored scope of work that matches your needs. Some clients begin with a focused engagement like a campaign or brand refresh; others begin with a full brand development or integrated marketing plan. Either way, the goal is the same: to create work that is clear, strategic, and impactful.

How long has BWP been in business?

We’ve been building brands, campaigns, and strategies since 1995. Over the years, we’ve seen technologies evolve and marketing channels multiply, but our philosophy has remained constant: start with research, build strong foundations, and create meaningful, creative solutions that resonate with audiences. That’s why many of our earliest clients still work with us today.
